How does Out of the Box Work?

1. Choose a Theme
Most Out of the Box customers already have something in mind when they approach me to create a scrapbook for them. Please visit the Ideas Page if you need help and want to see a list of some typical scrapbook themes. You may also want to review the Price List in advance so that you have an idea of what album works best for you.

2. Initial Contact
Once you have chosen a theme and know what you would like to have included in your scrapbook, you can contact me through email, or by phone at (214) 227-7603, to schedule a consultation. Please be prepared to provide a simple summary of your album ideas and/or what theme you are interested in. I will respond and setup a time to discuss your project. If you live nearby, I may even arrange to meet you in-person for this consultation. During the consultation, we will discuss exactly what I will do for you, and answer all of you questions. After we agree on a price, I will send you a welcome packet that will include: the Customer Agreement Form, instructions on how to get started, and a copy of your initial invoice.

3. Organize Your Photographs
The next step is to prepare your photos for the scrapbook. You need to arrange all your photos and memorabilia in the order that you would like them to appear in the album. (Note: This does not necessarily mean chronological order.) It's also important to consider how the photos should logically be grouped. For example, you can arrange the photos by theme, milestones, seasons, etc. Check out the Portfolio Page to see samples of my work. Do not worry about how many photos will fit on a page. I will take care of that part of the project for you!

4. Send Your Photographs
After you have organized your photos and have completed the Customer Agreement Form, you are ready to send us your photographs. Place all your photos in an envelope or a folder, and then pack them in a sturdy box. Pack them carefully so that they will not shift around inside the container. I suggest that you choose a reputable mailing service (USPS®, UPS®, FedEx®, etc.) and purchase insurance for your shipment to protect your photos. Do not mail your negatives.

Your shipment must also include a deposit fee in the amount of 50% of the total estimated cost of your project. I accept personal checks made out to "Out of the Box Scrapbooking". Or if you prefer, I can send you an invoice via email. Then you can send a secure payment electronically through Pay-Pal®.

5. The Creative Process Begins
I will contact you as soon as your shipment arrives to let you know it’s here, and to confirm receipt of the deposit fee. Once your check clears, the creative process will begin.

6. Completion and Returning of Your Album
When your album is complete, I will send you the final bill. Payment is then due in full. After final payment has been received, I will send your completed scrapbook via UPS®, and provide you with the tracking number so you can keep tabs on the shipment. In most cases, I require "signed proof of delivery", but this can be waived at your discretion. Insurance for the shipment is also strongly recommended and available upon request.

7. Enjoy Your Scrapbook for Many Years to Come...
